Properties
CT is a tape manufactured on a cotton basis with elastic properties that resemble those of the human skin (with up to 180% intrinsic elasticity). The tape is affixed by means of a self-adhesive acrylic coating. The coating's adhesive properties are activated by body temperature. The textural structure of the tape is permeable to air and moisture and therefore water-repellent.Indications/Use
CT is indicated for mobilization during sports activities and to alleviate the common symptoms of pain in joints, muscles and body tissues.Contraindications
There are no contraindications associated with proper use. This also applies to the treatment of pregnant women and children.Side effects
No side effects are associated with proper use. This also applies to the treatment of pregnant women and children.Functional principle
Affixing CT to the skin produces wavelike elevations of the skin. This reduces pressure in the tissue by expanding the space between skin and muscle and thereby regulates the circulation of lymph and blood. The concurrent stimulation of receptors (proprioreceptive stimuli) improves the function of the joints and stabilizes muscle tone. The release of pressure alleviates pain in the affected tissue.

- Before affixing CT, the area of skin in question should be clean of hair, grease and dirt particles.
